[Not Your Usual] Cowboy Poetry

Tobias!

Tobias!

Enjoying a horse-sound, glorious early riding season, I was moved to write a “meandering” on my personal FaceBook page. A friend commented, “multiple haikus”. I was intrigued. Although I haven’t written a haiku since I had to in high school, we have a sort of book club (CultureClub) that happens to be exploring poetry this month.

Here’s the original post:

Moments.
Sunlight warming pine trees. Their scent.
Quiet.
The sigh of a horse.
Brief conversations with new friends, one helping another.
Rhythmic movement.
Clouds rolling in, breeze picking up.
I am Grateful.

And here are the resulting haikus:

Sunlight warming pine.
Tree’s scent. Quiet. Sigh of a horse.
Being in moments.

and

Rhythmic movement. Horse.
Clouds rolling in. Breeze. Trees.
This is me. I am.

Maybe these have some meaning for you, too, so I thought I’d share them.

Namaste,

Cath
